I was part of 813 entry in Spickernell division, although, due to ill health I only lasted until March 1982. I just wish things had been different.

This just brought back some memories, I have "passed a lot of water" since the Bennett 821 Entry photo. I never knew I was so good looking back then.

Hi. It was great looking through your site and all the photos. Brought back lots of memories and I recognized lots of faces. I was an instructor at Fisgard from May 1982 to September 1983. The photo of me "on the pull" includes a Wren who worked in the kitchen at Fisgard. Happy days!

Martin, great to hear from you and many thanks for visiting our website.
Although nicknamed Spike, the division was called Spickernell, named after Rear Admiral Derek Spickernell (feel free to Google him). This spelling is backed up by the programmes and Fisgard magazines from the time that can be viewed on our documents page.

I joined in September '81 and was assigned to Spikernell division (shame the website spells this incorrectly).
I only managed to last until March '82 after having severe Bronchitis due to the boiler on West side breaking down in the midst of Winter. I often look back on my time, and wish things had been different and I had been able to complete my full training at Fisgard.
Parade ground pillow fights were memories not to be forgotten.

Round em up
Gents. We have 45 people comitted to attend the next thrash. many recall the great time has in Plymouth in 2012 ultimately helped by a great attendance and excellent organisation by Grant. Sean and Grant again are doing a fabulous job, using their own time and I am sure in some cases money to get this thing sorted for us all. I therefore ask one thing of everyone that is signed up, just one. Make it a mission to recruit one other person who isnt on the list. Someone you probably still know well, or just someone you know how to get hold of. Offer to drive them up there if you can tolerate their patter. Lets hit the target allowed by the venue and I am sure if there is the odd straggler we will sneak them in through the shithouse window. Looking forward to seeing you all....well most of you.

I was 821 A, interesting to see familiar faces. I think the entry list is missing the accelerated class. Hello to those that helped and supported me through this time.
Shouldn't the spam check be more Tiff like?
